What is Approval Voting?

It’s a single-winner electoral system where each voter may select any number of candidates. The winner is the most-approved candidate.

Why is Approval Voting better?

  • You can always vote for your favorite, as well as any number of “lesser-evils”, and you won’t ever feel like you’re wasting your vote.
  • Encourages honest voting as opposed to strategic voting.
  • Avoids “vote splitting” and the “spoiler effect”, which are huge problems with our current Plurality Voting system.
  • Encourages 3rd-parties and compromise-candidates.
  • Simpler than other voting systems.
